What is the shrinkage rate of PEEK material during injection molding?
The shrinkage of PEEK material during injection molding is affected by the material formula, molding conditions and other factors, as follows:
Non-filled PEEK material
Generally, the shrinkage rate is between 1% and 1.8%. Among them, the shrinkage in the flow direction is about 1%-1.2%, and the transverse shrinkage is about 1.3%-1.9%.
Filled PEEK material
Such as PEEK filled with glass fiber or carbon fiber, the shrinkage usually decreases, which can be as low as 0.1%-0.9%. For example, the shrinkage of PEEK filled with 30% glass fiber is 0.3%-0.9%, and that filled with 30% carbon fiber is 0.1%-0.5%.
